My only criticism is that I did not care for how references were cited. There is a discussion of Public Policy, which is great and something that I have not seen in any introductory text so far. However, the authors may want to find leaders of significant roles in criminal justice. This textbook is comparable to most other introduction textbooks on the market in terms of the content. This book has fairly comprehensive chapters, but lacks a conclusion or any acknowledgement of what it leaves out (gender issues in CJ, cybercrime, comparative criminal justice, etc.). The book does not go out of its way to be inclusive, but there are no insensitive or offensive statements within it. Some of the references were specific to a state, so a more multi-state approach could enhance the impact of the text. This is the same with various Tables or Charts (i.e., Mendelsohns Typology of Crime Victim which is mentioned as a title on page 57 and the Chart itself is presented on page 58.
